I committed to getting my hair dyed professionally by buying a new eyebrow pencil (NYX Auto eyebrow pencil in #EP06 Taupe) and did the deed last Thursday @ Salon Classy since they were the only salon who seemed to provide hair extensions within my price range too. Honestly though, you get what you pay for. I just snipped them all out a few minutes ago because they were ridiculously irritating.
Pro:
- Did what it was supposed to do and added a significant amount of length and some volume to my hair
Cons:
- Quality of the extensions was terrible ~ I had numerous split ends even though I used 3 different types of leave in conditioners and it didn't look very natural unless I kept brushing my hair otherwise they'd remain in their straggly bundles
- Maintenance was a b ~ Blow drying is a no-no and air drying is nearly impossible. The stylist said I'd be able to curl or straighten it as long as I kept everything on low heat, but there was no effect whatsoever
Next time I'll be sticking to clip-ins or at least consult with the other two reputable salons that provide extension services once I save up again -__- And I definitely won't ever get them done in the middle of summer especially when it's so effing humid. I'm really satisfied with the color though! Might even go lighter in a month or so, but will probably buy a home kit instead just to save money and time.
